Interesting whats with the apple lady too much acid in her orange juice dont pick me... zen..just being..feeling good...go with life but some kookie ppl can be into it
From what Ive seen and read up on this this guys for real. Seems to me its another crackpot misreading Buddhism.
I mean if this guy was serious it seems like there would be a little more restraint and self control on his part... but Ill have to see the whole thing to know for sure
If the guy is indeed the author of the Tasajara Bread Book, then he's got baking chops. That was THE bread book for my generation in the '70's.
But he certainly does not know how to slice a tomato. I think I'll pass on this movie: yawn.
And I'll tell you something else. Only someone who cooks with and for people who spend the better part of the day in meditation could be that relaxed. I'm sure you'd see a very different attitude if you put him on the line on a Saturday night with 150 covers all ordering different things. Bet on it.
What really got me (And kind of disgusted me) was the lady who was told she wasnt allowed to have any apples from the tree, but stole them anyway. As if she was intitled to them.
This has got me thinking alot about REAL buddhists cook. I may have to track down the nearest temple and go for a visit.

I agree with you 100 %.

I would say he's for real...he's got a paragraph mention in the 'United States of Arugula' that Ruhlman 'pushed' on his blog in August.
He was zen'n back in Alice Waters 'start-up' time.
Sold 750,000 of his bread cookbook.
